Basketball Recap: Seattle Prep Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against O'Dea, Seattle Prep was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Mercer Island Islanders by a score of 75-63. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Islanders are ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Seattle Prep pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points over those games. As for Mercer Island, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-13.

As of now, neither Seattle Prep nor Mercer Island have any future games scheduled.
