Baseball Recap: Escambia Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Escambia had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Davidson on Wednesday. Everything went the Escambia Gators' way against the Davidson Warriors as the Escambia Gators made off with a 12-3 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Gators have posted since April 5, 2024.

Matthew Jacobsma looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Christian Stone was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jackson Camargo also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Escambia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

Escambia's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Escambia has already played their next game, a 15-1 victory against Booker T. Washington on the 27th. As for Davidson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against Satsuma on the 27th.
