After a string of four wins, Hesperia's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burroughs Burros. The Scorpions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Burros apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hesperia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Flores, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Dru Lona also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hesperia's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Burroughs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Coming up, Hesperia will square off against Apple Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Apple Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Burroughs, they will face off against Oak Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Burroughs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Oak Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
