Basketball Recap: Gering Bulldogs vs. North Platte Bulldogs
The Gering Bulldogs were the 42-30 winner over the North Platte Bulldogs when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Gering was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 36-35 to the Bulldogs. Gering has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Gering still got an impressive performance from Neveah Hrasky, who scored 14 points.
North Platte found their leader in underclassman Keyala Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Gering has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for North Platte, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gering and the Red Raiders will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sidney is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. North Platte will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th.
