Soccer Game Preview: Chapin vs. Irmo

The Chapin Eagles will challenge the Irmo Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapin will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Irmo better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Chapin's game on Wednesday is any indication, that's when Chapin really gets things going. The Eagles' defense stepped up to hand Brookland-Cayce a 3-0 shutout. Chapin might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Irmo's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They won by a goal and slipped past White Knoll 1-0. That's two games straight that Irmo have won by just one goal.

Chapin pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five matchups. As for Irmo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

Chapin took their victory against Irmo in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellow Jackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
