Baseball Recap: Buckley Find Success

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buckley). Everything went their way against the Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica Seawolves on Tuesday as the Buckley Griffins made off with a 15-3 win. This was payback for the Griffins, who suffered a 6-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Buckley got a great performance from Sam Stefan as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Stefan also tossed five walks, marking his first of the season.

On the hitting side, Spencer Peterson was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 5-for-5. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Charlie Katz also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Buckley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Buckley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3-1. As for Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Buckley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
