Basketball Recap: Spring Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

If Spring Baptist Academy was feeling good fresh off their 51-28 takedown of Still Creek Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spring Baptist Academy Royals took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Faith Christian Saints on Thursday. The match was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Royals couldn't quite close it out.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Faith Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Avila, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 19 points. The dominant performance also gave Avila a new career-high in field goal percentage (70%). Mason Burns was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 22 boards.

Spring Baptist Academy's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Faith Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.

As of now, neither Spring Baptist Academy nor Faith Christian have any future games scheduled.
