Basketball Recap: Selinsgrove Comes Up Short

Selinsgrove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Mifflinburg Wildcats, falling 71-44. The Seals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Selinsgrove lost, don't look at Gavin Bastian. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. That's the most points Bastian has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Xaivier Jackson, who had nine points.

Selinsgrove's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mifflinburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Selinsgrove is taking a road trip to take on Mifflin County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mifflinburg, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lewisburg at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th.
