Preview: M.L. King Lions vs. Lithonia Bulldogs

M.L. King is 1-7 against Lithonia since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The M.L. King Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lithonia Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

M.L. King pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to Tucker. While losing is never fun, M.L. King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Tucker is ranked 17th).

Despite their loss, M.L. King saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kennedy Ruzvidzo jr., who scored 14 points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Ruzvidzo jr. is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Noah Brown was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Meanwhile, Lithonia came up short against Marist on Saturday and fell 56-47. Lithonia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

M.L. King's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Lithonia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

M.L. King barely slipped by Lithonia when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 44-43. Does M.L. King have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lithonia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
