Football Recap: Plainview Beats Dundy County-Stratton for Their Eighth Straight Win

It's playoff time, and Plainview had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 64-44 margin over the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers on Friday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

A big part of Plainview's victory came down to the chemistry between Gage Walton and his top target Kobe Maertins. Walton gained 284 total yards and four touchdowns while Maertins rushed for 55 yards and three touchdowns. With that strong performance, Walton is now averaging an impressive 111.4 rushing yards per game.

Plainview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 380 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

The win (which was Plainview's eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points over those games. As for Dundy County-Stratton, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 10-1.

Looking ahead, Plainview will head out on the road to face off against Sandy Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 31 points in their last eight matchups. Dundy County-Stratton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
