Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Black Hills' Fifth in Last Six Outings

Tumwater came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Black Hills, but Natalie Buchanan wouldn't allow it. The Black Hills Wolves were the clear victor by a 57-36 margin over the Tumwater Thunderbirds on Friday thanks in part to Buchanan, who posted 17 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy O'Reilly, who put up seven points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (two).

Black Hills is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 29.5% in those games and 20% outside of them. As for Tumwater, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Black Hills will head out to take on Centralia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Black Hills is facing Centralia at the right time seeing as Centralia is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Tumwater, they will be playing at home against Aberdeen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
