Baseball Recap: Rose Bud Has No Trouble Against East Poinsett County

There's no place like home for Rose Bud, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 16-6 margin over the East Poinsett County Warriors on Monday. The game marked the Ramblers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Tanner Bell made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Bell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jay Bell was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Athan Hensley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Rose Bud was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Rose Bud's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for East Poinsett County, their record now sits at 1-1.

Coming up, Rose Bud will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Mt. Vernon-Enola at 7:00 p.m. As for East Poinsett County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Forrest City at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
