Baseball Game Preview: Maplewood Rockets vs. Lakeview Bulldogs

The Maplewood Rockets will venture away from home to face off against the Lakeview Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Maplewood nor Lakeview posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Maplewood's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Lake Center Christian hitters got past them. The Rockets lost 10-2 to the Tiger on Thursday. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kenyan Clover was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lakeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to South Range.

Lakeview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Shaker, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Maplewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
