Basketball Recap: Poston Butte's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Cholla came into Wednesday's match looking for another win against Poston Butte, but Symirah Gray wouldn't allow it. The Poston Butte Broncos blew past the Cholla Chargers 70-8 on Wednesday thanks in part to Gray, who dropped a double-double on 44 points and 12 steals. The game was her eighth in a row with at least ten points.

Kara Child was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds. Those five points gave her a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Poston Butte and bumps their season record up to 4-7. As for Cholla, their defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Poston Butte will take on Sahuaro in a tournament on December 27th. As for Cholla, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Empire at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Cholla is facing Empire at the right time seeing as Empire is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
