Softball Recap: Royal Oak Comes Up Short

Athens hit Royal Oak with a four-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ravens fell 7-2 to the Red Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-13 on Thursday.

Royal Oak has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-11-2 record this season. As for Athens, they pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Royal Oak will face off against Troy at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Athens, they will challenge Berkley at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
