Basketball Recap: Fountain Central Extends Winning Streak to Six

Fountain Central entered their tilt with Western Boone on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Western Boone Stars by a score of 49-39. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 42-28 loss the last time these two teams met.

Fountain Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Henley Good, who went 5 of 12 en route to 14 points along with five boards and five steals. That's the most steals Good has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Brailey Hoagland, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Western Boone had strong showings from Olivia Reagan, who posted ten points and eight boards, and Ally Lewis, who put up 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Amaya Westerfeld also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Fountain Central is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Western Boone, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Fountain Central has already played their next match, a 60-30 victory against Covington on the 13th. As for Western Boone, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-45 win against Clinton Prairie on the 11th.
