Basketball Recap: Milford Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Georgetown-Ridge Farm, Milford was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 victory over the South Newton Rebels. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bearcats also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colton Marks, who posted 11 points and three steals. Marks has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Brody Pass also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Milford's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-17. As for South Newton, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chrisman at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Newton has already played their next contest (against Cissna Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
