Basketball Game Preview: Western Reserve Academy Pioneers vs. Newman

Having just played yesterday, the Western Reserve Academy Pioneers will jump right back in to play Newman at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Western Reserve Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

Western Reserve Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past IMG Academy Blue 80-24 on Monday. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 29th in Ohio, while the Ascenders are ranked 279th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Western Reserve Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sheridan Oberhand out in front who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 assists. Those 11 assists gave Oberhand a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Islay Moore, who went 8-for-10 en route to 20 points.

Meanwhile, Newman entered their matchup against Darrow on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Newman fell 53-45 to Darrow.

Newman's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Western Reserve Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.
