Baseball Recap: St. Agnes Drops Highest Score of Season Against St. Croix Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Agnes). They skirted past the St. Croix Prep Lions 16-14. With that win, the Aggies brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Danny Plamann was incredible, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for St. Agnes: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Patros, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

St. Agnes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory (which was St. Agnes' third in a row) raised their record to 8-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for St. Croix Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

St. Agnes will take on St. Paul Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Croix Prep, they will challenge Minnehaha Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
