Basketball Recap: Syracuse Takes a Loss

Syracuse has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 62-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arlington Eagles on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-38 back in January.

Arlington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trent Koger, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds. Koger is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played. Oliver Ladehoff was another key player, going 6 for 8 on his way to 21 points.

Syracuse's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Arlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Syracuse will host Douglas County West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas County West will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Syracuse surely won't give up without a fight. As for Arlington, they are taking a road trip to square off against Fort Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arlington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season.
