Jordan-Elbridge unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Solvay Bearcats on Friday, falling 15-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 15, 2024.

Abby DelFavero was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over eight innings while giving up six earned (and nine unearned) runs off seven hits. DelFavero was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Grace Rusyniak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabella Jay, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Solvay has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Jordan-Elbridge will square off against Christian Brothers Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Solvay, they will take on Marcellus at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
