Basketball Recap: Merritt Island Takes a Loss

Merritt Island came up into this matchup off a tough 22-point loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Heritage Panthers by a score of 54-52 on Tuesday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 57-53.

This is the second loss in a row for Merritt Island and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.

Merritt Island and Satellite will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Satellite is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season. As for Heritage, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Eau Gallie at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
