Basketball Game Preview: Morse Tigers vs. Clairemont Chieftains

The Morse Tigers will square off against the Clairemont Chieftains at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Morse is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Morse came up short against Crawford and fell 60-47.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jamarion Hall, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eldren Vergara, who went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Clairemont hadn't done well against High Tech SD recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Clairemont narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past High Tech SD 45-43.

Morse's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-13. As for Clairemont, their win bumped their record up to an identical 12-13.
