Baseball Recap: Pisgah's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Pisgah lost against Geraldine back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pisgah Eagles fell just short of the Geraldine Bulldogs by a score of 8-7.

Caleb Jenkins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Luke Gilbert was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Pisgah's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Geraldine, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pisgah is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Fyffe at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Geraldine, they will head out to take on Section at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
