Soccer Game Preview: Lawrence Academy vs. Ridgecroft

The Lawrence Academy Warriors will face off against the Ridgecroft Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lawrence Academy has four straight victories, Ridgecroft has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Monday, Lawrence Academy made easy work of Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech and carried off a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for Lawrence Academy, who have now won eight matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Ridgecroft's offense. They came up short against Crossroads Christian last Friday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Ridgecroft can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Crossroads Christian are ranked 168th).

Lawrence Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four contests. As for Ridgecroft, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything went Lawrence Academy's way against Ridgecroft when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Lawrence Academy made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
