Softball Recap: Wayne County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gautier last Monday, Wayne County came back down to earth. The War Eagles lost 19-2 to the Stone Tomcats on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tomcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 back in March.

Wayne County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKaleigh Coachran, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Wayne County's loss dropped their record down to 8-18-1. As for Stone, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Wayne County will head out on the road to take on Vancleave at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stone does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
