Softball Preview: Tri-County Penguins vs. Pacelli Cardinals
Tri-County is 0-7 against Pacelli since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tri-County Penguins will head out on the road to face off against the Pacelli Cardinals at 4:30 p.m.
Things were looking good for Tri-County after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 12-3 to Pittsville.
Tri-County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paitton Rothermel, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI. Rothermel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
Meanwhile, Pacelli entered their tilt with Poynette with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Pumas onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday.
Tri-County's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Pacelli, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
