With a playoff win on the line, Kearney rose to the challenge on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the St. Pius X Warriors 51-48. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 43-39 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maecy Hinkebein, who posted 17 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Vacanti, who scored 12 points and six boards.

Kearney has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season. St. Pius X's loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

Kearney has already played their next game, a 43-19 defeat against St. Teresa's Academy on the 8th. St. Pius X does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
