Baseball Recap: Chula Vista Beats Southwest SD for Their Fourth Straight Win

Chula Vista extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 10-6-2 in the process. Everything went their way against the Southwest SD Raiders as they made off with an 8-2 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Brandon Lucero was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Isaiah Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

As for Southwest SD, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9-1 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Southwest SD's side, Dario Zepeda made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Chula Vista will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
