Football Game Preview: West Carteret Patriots vs. Havelock Rams

West Carteret hasn't had much luck against Havelock recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Patriots will challenge the Rams at 7:00 p.m. West Carteret is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

While West Carteret's win against Swansboro wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots slipped by the Pirates 26-25 on Friday.

D'Jabrien Murray continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 225 receiving yards and one score. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 120.4 receiving yards per game. Tanner Payne was another key player, having thrown for 368 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 49 points the game before, Havelock was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Croatan.

Havelock's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for West Carteret, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

West Carteret was dealt a bruising 61-0 loss at the hands of Havelock in their previous meeting back in August of 2022. Thankfully for the Patriots, Lebron Sharpe (who rushed for 249 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.9 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
