Basketball Recap: Greenville Takes a Loss

Greenville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by the Cleveland Central Wolves 49-18. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-36 on January 7th.

Keniyha Rhodes and Crystal Peoples certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Rhodes dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Peoples posted no points. The dominant performance gave Rhodes a new career-high in boards. Khloe Jackson also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Greenville now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Cleveland Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Greenville will be playing in front of their home fans against Gentry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cleveland Central, they are taking a road trip to take on Canton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canton will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Cleveland Central surely won't give up without a fight.
