Baseball Recap: Chino Hills Victorious

Chino Hills won the last time they faced Upland and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Huskies skirted past the Highlanders/Scots 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Brody Buoncristiani made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Buoncristiani wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Hernandez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave Hernandez a new career-high.

Chino Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upland struck out nine times.

Chino Hills' victory bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Upland, their defeat was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-22.

Chino Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Highlanders/Scots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
