Marshall and Rosemead are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2019, but not for long. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Marshall will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Gabrielino, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Marshall had just enough and edged out Gabrielino 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for Marshall.
Marshall was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 19-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-13.

Marshall can attribute much of their success to Harlem Castro, who had 14 digs and one assist, and Livsey Teems, who had 15 digs, eight kills, and six aces. Teems has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 15 times she's played.
Meanwhile, Rosemead beat Arroyo 3-1 on Friday.
Rosemead had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-13.
Rosemead's win came from a few key players Marshall will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alyssa Huyhn, who had 30 digs and three assists. Those 30 digs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Viviana Tu, who had 15 assists and 12 digs.
Marshall's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Rosemead, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Marshall was able to grind out a solid win over Rosemead when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
