Commerce barely beat Putnam Vo-Tech the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Raiders blew past the Beavers 23-14 on Wednesday. The Red Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Gianna Perez was a standout: she fired off two  home runs, three  stolen bases,  and five  runs while  getting on base  in all six of her plate appearances. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in April.  Vanessa Rios was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with one  home run, four  stolen bases,  and five  RBI.
 They weren't the only ones working in the  home run department: Commerce  lost a few balls and  finished the game with three  home runs. They are 2-1 when  they post two or more  home runs.
Commerce's victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 5-7. As for Putnam Vo-Tech,  they are  on  a  ten-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 0-10.
 Looking ahead, Commerce will host Hampden Charter School of Science  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Putnam Vo-Tech, they are taking a road trip to  face off against Pathfinder RVT  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8  runs per game  this season, so the Beavers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
