Baseball Game Preview: Nash Central Bulldogs vs. West Craven Eagles

The Nash Central Bulldogs will square off against the West Craven Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nash Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Nash Central blew Princeton out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Princeton got their revenge. Nash Central fell just short of Princeton by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Nash Central has suffered since April 18, 2024.

Caleb Cox was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nash Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Moss, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Moss has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, West Craven posted their closest win since February 25th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over North Pitt. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

West Craven's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Nash Central, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-7.
