Volleyball Game Preview: Kenosha Christian Life Eagles vs. Luther Prep Phoenix

Kenosha Christian Life is 1-8 against Luther Prep since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Phoenix at 6:45 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Sunday, Kenosha Christian Life beat St. Anthony 2-0.

Kenosha Christian Life can attribute much of their success to Bella Brown, who hit 87.5% for seven kills and eight aces and four digs, and Linnea Lind, who had 20 digs. What's more, Lind also posted a -100% hitting percentage, which is the highest she's achieved over her last two matches.

They weren't the only good servers: Kenosha Christian Life was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Luther Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against Lake Country Lutheran on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-23.

Luther Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. As for Kenosha Christian Life, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Kenosha Christian Life came up short against Luther Prep when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
