Baseball Recap: Annapolis' Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Annapolis had lost six straight, but after bumping their record up to 5-8 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the North County Knights 11-2. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st (when they won 16-1).

Ben Sale spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. Annapolis is 2-1 when Sale allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

At the plate, John Davis was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Daniel Capo, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

As for North County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. Having soared to a lofty 26 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On North County's side, they got a good showing from Ayden Genest, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Kaiden Cummings made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Annapolis is set to face off against their familiar foe Northeast at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, North County will square off against rival Glen Burnie at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
