Basketball Recap: Clay County Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Clay County Christian Academy was the 39-26 winner over Tuscaloosa Christian when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 29-23 to the Warriors on Thursday.

Despite the defeat, Clay County Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kinsley Brown went 5-for-9 on her way to 11 points. Hannah Spurlin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Clay County Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Tuscaloosa Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Clay County Christian Academy and Tuscaloosa Christian will both be playing Tabernacle the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Torches at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
