Basketball Recap: Bethel Takes a Loss

Bethel saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 44-30 bruising from the Chaputnguak Shaman.

Chaputnguak's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Donetta Vaavale led the charge by putting up 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of MacKenzie Larsen, who posted 12 points.

Bethel dropped their record down to 10-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Chaputnguak, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Bethel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-14 win against Kodiak on the 8th. As for Chaputnguak, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-39 victory against Scammon Bay on the 8th.
