Koyuk Malimiut won the last time they faced Gambell and things went their way on Saturday too. The Malemutes walked away with a 3-1 win over the King Polar Bear. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Malemutes.

Koyuk Malimiut had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-18.

Koyuk Malimiut's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Gambell, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Koyuk Malimiut and Gambell will both be playing Shaktoolik the next time they take the court. The King Polar Bear will head out to face the Wolverines on Friday, while the Malemutes will host them on the 14th.
