Basketball Recap: Dakeria Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eustis over Lake Region

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eustis can now relate to. They fell just short of the Lake Region Thunder by a score of 57-54 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since December 10, 2024.

Eustis lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Dakeria Brown, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Davis-Smith, who put up 12 points.

Eustis' defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Lake Region, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Eustis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Region, they will square off against Palm Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palm Bay will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Lake Region surely won't give up without a fight.
