Basketball Recap: Salt Lake Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Non Varsity Opponent two weeks ago, Salt Lake Academy came back down to earth. The Salt Lake Academy Griffins fell just short of the Pinnacle Panthers by a score of 65-62 on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (61), the Griffins still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Salt Lake Academy lost, don't look at Braylon Brock. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 boards. The dominant performance gave Brock a new career-high in boards. Lucas Malmstrom was another key player, going 7 of 13 on his way to 20 points.

Salt Lake Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Pinnacle, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Dugway the next time they take the court. Pinnacle will head out to face Dugway at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, while Salt Lake Academy will play them later in the day, at 9:00 p.m.
