Basketball Game Preview: Penobscot Valley Howlers vs. Penquis Valley Patriots

Penobscot Valley and Penquis Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Penobscot Valley Howlers will head out on the road to face off against the Penquis Valley Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Penobscot Valley turned things around against Piscataquis on Monday. They walked away with a 53-46 victory over the Pirates.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Penquis Valley). They blew past Greenville 67-33 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Penobscot Valley's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Penquis Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Penobscot Valley came up short against Penquis Valley in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 36-31. Can Penobscot Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
