Baseball Game Preview: James F. Byrnes Rebels vs. Riverside Warriors

For the second straight game, James F. Byrnes will face off against Riverside. The Rebels will take on the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Monday, James F. Byrnes narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Riverside 5-4. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Connor Crenshaw was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Easton Keels looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of James F. Byrnes' success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 5-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

Back at the plate, James F. Byrnes let Jordan Perez and Jake Moss run wild. Perez scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Moss scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The defeat snapped Riverside's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-7 record. As for James F. Byrnes, their record is now 10-7.
