Volleyball Recap: Burroughs Takes a Loss

Burroughs was the 3-0 winner over Sultana when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Burros lost 3-0 to the Sultans on Monday. The Burros have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Sultana got the win, Burroughs sure made them earn it: two sets took extra rallies. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 26-24, 26-24.

Kyla Chilbes paced Burroughs' offense, picking up 11 kills. Chilbes got some help from Mariah Redondo and her eight assists. Aaliyah Melton controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Burroughs' defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Sultana, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Burroughs will square off against rival Hesperia at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Sultana is set to take on their familiar foe Oak Hills at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
