Baseball Game Preview: Westlake Rams vs. North Vermilion Patriots

The Westlake Rams will venture away from home to face off against the North Vermilion Patriots at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Westlake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so North Vermilion's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Westlake barely beat Jennings the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-0 win on Thursday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, North Vermilion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Rayne.

Westlake pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for North Vermilion, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.
