Recap: Cook Hornets vs. Tift County Blue Devils

The Cook Hornets struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Tift County Blue Devils had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Cook fell 54-41 to Tift County. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Cook of the 59-54 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryan Hawkins, who scored nine points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Ny'shaun Wallace, who scored 13 points.

Tift County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Fred White out in front who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Evans, who scored ten points.

Cook's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Tift County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Cook won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dodge County at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Dodge County is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Tift County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Houston County at 7:30 p.m.
