Basketball Game Preview: Berkshire Badgers vs. Rootstown Rovers

The Berkshire Badgers will take on the Rootstown Rovers at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Saturday, Berkshire came up short against Kennedy Catholic and fell 59-46. While losing is never fun, the Badgers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 186th in Ohio, while Kennedy Catholic are ranked 46th in Pennsylvania).

Meanwhile, Rootstown came tearing into Saturday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.9 points), and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 65-47 victory over the Minutemen.

Rootstown's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Berkshire, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

Berkshire didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Rootstown in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, but they still walked away with a 64-58 victory. Will the Badgers repeat their success, or do the Rovers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
