Baseball Game Preview: Glenbard West Hilltoppers vs. Downers Grove North Trojans

Glenbard West hasn't had much luck against Downers Grove North recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hilltoppers will welcome the Trojans at 4:30 p.m.

Glenbard West lost 9-1 to Downers Grove North on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Downers Grove North's part, Colin Doyle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Brady Schallmoser was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was JD Cumbee, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

The loss snapped Downers Grove North's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 19-4 record. As for Glenbard West, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
