Volleyball Recap: Greenwood Woodmen vs. Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs
Greenwood and Franklin Community squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Greenwood had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Grizzly Cubs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Woodmen have suffered since April 16th.
Nathan Ven paced Greenwood's offense, picking up five kills. Ven got some help from David Kima and his seven assists. Peng Thang controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Leading Franklin Community to victory were Jackson Clements and Titus Cross. Clements had eight digs and two aces, while Cross had five digs and one assist. That's the most digs Clements has posted over his last three matches.
Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Franklin Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season.
Greenwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin Community, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Columbus East on the 17th.
